Strap or No Strap? That is the question...

Strap or No Strap? That is the question...

With the current trends in goalkeeper gloves, one of the major changes has been the strap!

Gloves are no longer bulky and misshapen, they now seem to fit perfectly to the hand with a much closer, ergonomic fit, which in turn poses the question - Is the role of the strap now redundant?

For some, the answer may be yes, for others, the comfort of the strap is something we are not yet ready to give up!

Glove construction has come a very long way over the past decade or so, with the biggest advancements in glove technology coming in this period. Materials have played a huge part in this by opening up avenues for innovation, and designers didn't delay in taking up the invitation to shake things up a bit!

From the days where every Keeper wore a flat palm glove, to the introduction of the roll finger glove, not a lot changed in the goalkeeping world with regards to cut for decades. In the last 2 decades there has been the emergence of negative, hybrid, hybrid roll, gecko, reverse roll, shotgun, negative roll, to name a few. The one thing they all have in common is that the excess space inside the gloves has been reduced significantly, allowing the possibility of wearing the gloves without the need for a strap.

But surely every size 9 hand cant be the exact same can it? Therefore it's not a case of one size fits all perfectly, so the comfort of a strap must still be a welcome one?

So what do you think? Should we bring you a fully strapless option like the one pictured? Or do you like the option of having a strap to tighten things up a bit? Maybe your old school and a glove with a fixed strap would be your weapon of choice? Whatever your choice, here at EVAS we are dedicated to have you covered, and that's why we are...

The No1's, No1!
